Head-Chair, João Marcelo Barbosa
Hello Guys, my name is João Marcelo Barbosa and I will be serving as the head chair of the Junior special committee, Russia in the early 20th century, alongside my co-chair Eduardo Campos. I am currently a year 11 in the British School Rio de Janeiro (urca site).
My MUN journey started in 2023 in BRAMUN and I can still remember the nervousness ,that would soon become a thrill, when my name was called by the chairs or any other delegate in the room. For me it was something completely new and out of the ordinary, something that was everything but dull. Even though I swore to myself that I would never come back to any other MUN, here I am. Due to the many friends I made and lessons I learned due to MUN I had break my promise. I left BRAMUN 2023 without any award but with a deep desire to come back in 2024 to prove I could do better.
After many MUNs I am now serving as a chair in Rio MUN, a key part in my journey. Moreover I really hope I can also be part of the path of others as I wish that throughout this conference I can lead delegates towards the enthusiasm that MUN can create. Furthermore my biggest priority is to help all delegates, mostly the ones not familiar with procedure. I really hope that one day they can arrive at a senior committee or conference confident of their capabilities and truly unleash all their potential.
See you all in November! If you have any doubts or concerns feel free to contact me at jm.ramos.barbosa.2008@gmail.com
Vice-Chair, Eduardo Campos
Hello everyone, my name is Eduardo Campos and I am a sophomore at EARJ Gávea. I am deeply honored and thrilled to be a chair alongside my head chair, João Marcelo, for this edition of RioMUN.
I started my MUN journey a year ago, and I remember the anxiety I felt during my first conference. I didn’t know the procedure well, nor how to articulate my points effectively, but that experience pushed me to grow, and it’s amazing to see how far I’ve come.
As a chair for this conference, my goal is to create a collaborative, respectful, and productive environment where everyone feels comfortable expressing their ideas. Whether this is your first MUN experience or you’re a seasoned delegate, I hope we can all learn from one another and work toward impactful resolutions!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact my email at duducampos2009@gmail.com or reach out to João Marcelo.
